Our training is designed to equip support workers and healthcare staff with the critical knowledge, hands-on experience, and certification required to safely deliver high-intensity daily personal activities to participants with complex care needs.

Diabetes Management Training

Support workers will gain confidence in assisting clients to manage diabetes effectively, including administering insulin safely.

Course Covers:

Infection control and hygiene protocols
Understanding Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes
Following the client’s diabetes management plan
Monitoring and recording blood glucose levels (BGLs)
Recognising and responding to hypoglycaemia
Calculating insulin dosage and administering injections

Participants will practice BGL checks and insulin administration using simulation equipment.

Certificate of Achievement issued upon successful completion.

Course Covers:

Types of seizures, triggers, and prevention techniques
Recognising early seizure signs and taking immediate action

Minimising exposure to seizure triggers

Medication Awareness Training

Course Covers:

The 6 Rights of Medication Administration
Safe medication handling and documentation
Recognising side effects and responding to incidents
Administering laxatives, suppositories, enemas, and non-routine medication
Maintaining hydration and nutrition

A must-have course for SIL and community-based support staff.

Medication Awareness Training

Urinary Catheter Care Training

Prepare your team to confidently support participants using catheters for medical reasons.

Course Covers:

Male and female urinary system overview
Infection control and hygiene practices
Changing and disposing of catheter bags
Emergency insertion of intermittent catheters
Monitoring for complications or infections
Documentation and reporting requirements

Practical training includes catheter care on medical mannequins.
Certificate awarded upon course completion.

Enteral Nutrition (PEG) Training

Essential for workers supporting individuals receiving nutrition via feeding tubes.

Course Covers:

PEG and nasogastric feeding basics
Tube placement checks and feeding procedures
Cleaning and maintaining equipment
Monitoring stoma site for infection
Managing allergic reactions and dehydration

Hands-on training using enteral feeding equipment.
Certificate of Achievement issued upon completion.

Enteral Nutrition (PEG) Training

Dysphagia Support Training

Learn to support individuals with swallowing difficulties in line with HIDPA standards.

Course Covers:

Safe support during meals and medication administration
Texture-modified diets and thickened fluids
Choking first aid and emergency procedures
Monitoring and documentation of intake and symptoms

Statement of Competence awarded after skill and knowledge assessment.

Suctioning & Tracheostomy Management

Support clients with respiratory care needs using evidence-based techniques.

Course Covers:

Routine and emergency suctioning procedures
Stoma hygiene and infection control
Equipment maintenance and use
Identifying signs of obstruction or infection
Emergency airway management procedures

Simulation practice included.
