Our training is designed to equip support workers and healthcare staff with the critical knowledge, hands-on experience, and certification required to safely deliver high-intensity daily personal activities to participants with complex care needs.

Diabetes Management Training

Support workers will gain confidence in assisting clients to manage diabetes effectively, including administering insulin safely.

Course Covers:

  • Infection control and hygiene protocols
  • Understanding Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes
  • Following the client’s diabetes management plan
  • Monitoring and recording blood glucose levels (BGLs)
  • Recognising and responding to hypoglycaemia
  • Calculating insulin dosage and administering injections

 

Participants will practice BGL checks and insulin administration using simulation equipment.

Certificate of Achievement issued upon successful completion.

  • The 6 Rights of Medication Administration
  • Safe medication handling and documentation

  • Administering laxatives, suppositories, enemas, and non-routine medication
  • Maintaining hydration and nutrition
